Mil Mi-24 Hind E - Iraqi Air Force

The Mil Mi-24 is a helicopter gunship with a capacity for 8 troops, with a top speed of over 200 miles per hour. It was produced in the USSR from 1972 and is still in use by over 50 countries. The Hind E is the NATO designation for the export version, and this model is shown as being in the service of the Iraqi Air Force, in 1984.

This was built using the HobbyBoss 1:72 kit and was a really enjoyable build. What struck me was the size of the thing! It's massive (in relative terms being a scale model).

This model won the "Commended" award at the IPMS Scottish National Scale Model Show in April 2023.
